Shelly Door / Window 2 is an opening detection smart Wi-Fi sensor

Shelly Door / Window sensor is a wifi device which greatly facilitates the safety of our life.

Shelly for doors / windows connected to the wifi network of your home notifies you on your smartphone that the windows are open when you are going to work, going to sleep or when it could rain, then it detects and signals the opening and closing of doors and windows and also controls temperature changes and keeping your home comfortable at all times.

Shelly Door / Window 2 is a classic opening detection sensor, based on a main unit containing a small red sensor and a secondary one, containing a small magnet.

The two units are positioned next to each other on the contact point of the two leaves of an opening which, upon opening or closing, determines the reading by the electronics present in the main unit which then sends this change to home automation. of state.

Compatible with Android , iOS , Amazon Alexa , Google Assistant and home automation servers using MQTT, CoAP and REST API.

Both components are made of white plastic but have very different dimensions:

the first - the main unit - measures 82 x 23 x 20 mm,

while the second, the magnet, 52 x 16 x 13 mm.

The two elements are already equipped on the back with double-sided adhesive tape for a prompt installation, which however must first require the application of two 3v CR123A batteries (not included in the package).

Like many components of this type, this sensor supports the 802.11 b / g / n Wi-Fi transmission protocol only on the 2.4 Ghz frequency; on the front there is a small status LED.

Also interesting is the presence of a brightness sensor, an inclinometer as well as vibration: three sensors useful, when integrated in home automation, for uses also other than those specifically provided for the sensor.

Inside there are the contacts for reprogramming using any alternative firmware such as Tasmota, ESPHome or similar) and a "reset" button, small but easily accessible from the outside via a needle tip.

The Shelly Door / Window is easy to install, it is placed on the door or window frame you want.

The configuration of our devices is very simple and intuitive through the Shelly application.

As a first procedure, you must download the Shelly app and create your own user profile.

Once registered, the main screen will come out which reveals the various functions of the app and will direct you on how to proceed. The first step is to create rooms in which the devices present in those rooms must be inserted.

To configure the Shelly Door / Window on your smartphone you must add the device from the settings area and connect it to your wifi network, rename it and then insert it in the desired room and from here you can have fun creating scenes or groups, as suggested. the application, and have control of the Shelly Door / Window via your mobile phone.
