The Sonoff Zigbee Mini R2 Extreme is a compact and versatile automation device , designed to integrate the control
smart in any home environment. This Zigbee 3.0 switch supports a maximum load of 10A ,
transforming traditional switches into smart switches for remote control of lights and electronic devices. With dimensions
reduced, it is perfect for EU/86/120 type mounting boxes and can be used with various types of switches , such as rocker switches
and SPDT. Integration with Sonoff Zigbee hubs and platforms such as eWeLink, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings and Philips Hue
allows you to control the Sonoff ZBMINI R2 via app and voice commands, offering convenience and flexibility for a truly smart home.
With small size, Sonoff ZBMINI R2 Extreme fits easily into any mounting box,
delivering powerful performance in a miniature format . Turbo mode increases the range
up to 200 meters in open environments, eliminating blind spots in Zigbee signal coverage.
Operated via eWeLink app , this smart switch allows remote control from anywhere. Its compatibility
with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and other platforms allows voice control and home automation .
This smart switch device supports different types of external switches, including rocker switches or push button switches,
allowing easy integration with existing systems and increasing flexibility of use.
The Sonoff ZBMINI R2 Extreme integrates seamlessly with other Zigbee smart devices, such as motion sensors ,
door and window sensors , Presence Sensors and many others, to create automated scenarios that make your home
even smarter. You can set up custom scenarios, such as automatically turning on the lights when it is detected
movement or turn off electrical devices when a window is opened. This feature transforms every routine
in a tailor-made experience, improving the practicality and efficiency of your home .
Prevent smart bulbs from going offline when the external switch is off.
“Disconnect Mode” allows you to keep your smart bulb connected even when
The external switch is in the off position, ensuring uninterrupted remote control.
Delayed start protects against overloads when restarting after a power failure,
preventing damage to connected devices caused by high currents.
For correct operation and connection to the APP eWeLink, the Sonoff Zigbee MINI R2 requires a Zigbee Hub .
Supports Zigbee hubs that use Zigbee 3.0 protocol, such as SONOFF NSPanel Pro , SONOFF iHost ,
SONOFF ZB Bridge Pro , Sonoff Bridge Ultra , SONOFF ZBDongle-E and Echo Plus 2nd. Thanks to the integration
open source with Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant , you have full control of your lighting system.
The ZBMINI R2 is a 230V relay switch that connects to the mains on one side (phase and neutral) and can control
a 230V load on the output side, allowing it to close and open the circuit . It can be installed behind sockets or
light switches (maximum load 10A). An external switch can also be connected to its input, allowing
both the wall switch and the Zigbee app to control the device when installed behind the wall switches . With
an internet connection and using the eWelink app, via a Sonoff Zigbee Hub , the relay can be controlled remotely.
Zigbee is a protocol specifically designed for smart home/IoT applications, developed for efficient communication
between such devices. Unlike Wi-Fi devices that connect directly to the router, Zigbee devices require a
Zigbee-to-Wi-Fi gateway (also called bridge or coordinator) for remote control and Internet connection.
One advantage of Zigbee solutions is that they offload traffic from the Wi-Fi network, since only one Wi-Fi device (the Zigbee gateway)
It connects to the router, while all other devices communicate via the Zigbee protocol, freeing up the router's IP addresses.
Zigbee technology also supports mesh networks, where 230V-powered Zigbee devices (such as the Sonoff ZBMINI relays and
Sonoff Basic ZBR3 ) can forward data from other Zigbee devices to the Zigbee gateway if they are out of its range
of direct action, extending the reach of the network. Another advantage of the Zigbee protocol is its low power consumption,
much lower than Wi-Fi. This makes the Zigbee protocol particularly popular for battery-powered sensors,
that can run for years on a single battery due to their low power requirements. Zigbee only manages small
data packets, which is usually sufficient as it is mainly used for control commands and
status updates. The Zigbee protocol is an industry standard, so Zigbee devices are fully
standards should, in theory, be compatible with standard devices from any manufacturer .
